¿Fixer?

El stringer contratado como apoyo logístico/lingüístico del corresponsal enviado por la empresa mediática que contrata sus servicios, es más conocido como fixer.

“Fixers and stringers are used more and more to go into areas that, as a Westerner, it is difficult to penetrate” (Kathy Gannon, Dangerous Assignments, The fixer).

Elisabeth Witchel lo describe con las siguientes palabras:

“Fixers have long worked with foreign correspondent, doing everything from booking hotels to schedulling interviews with top officials. While the term is sometimes broadly applied to include drivers and travel guides, established fixers are generally local hires, many of whom are well-respected journalists in their own countries. They work on a short term basis providing expertise, translation, contacts and research.”
